800 Gilt Silver Days of the Week Cameo Bracelet
I don't normally really do much with cameos, but I stumbled across a couple of cool ones from the same estate that I could not resist! The first is this intricate gilt silver filigree bracelet with seven oval cameos, each depicting a different scene, commonly called a "Days of the Week" bracelet. The cameos are carved mother of pearl in golden tan against a shimmering white ground. The carvings are pretty simple - not crude so much as stylized - very Deco looking. They are bezel set in hinged gilt silver filigree squares, though an area north and south of each cameo was left ungilded, giving it a two-tone look. This is not gilt wear, I have looked closely and those pieces were never gilded, it is part of the design and actually gives the bracelet a lot of depth. It measures 6 ¾" long x ¾" wide and has a push in box clasp. Hallmarked on the tongue 800 for silver content along with another mark in a cartouche too tiny decipher (I think Italian?), it is in excellent condition, with no wear to note. Really sharp looking on! $165.00

Very Wide Antique Etruscan Revival Gilt Bangle
A showy antique gilt silver bangle, measuring 1 7/16" wide, and done in Etruscan Revival form, with delicate textured wirework and beaded, braided and bobbled edges. The gilt has a rose hue that is stunning. Beautifully made, with a good hinge, strong wide box clasp and original safety chain. There are two hallmarks on the tongue of the clasp which I just cannot figure out, even with a 16x loupe, my eyes are just shot. One looks like a bird head (not the French eagle head) with numbers underneath (possibly 133). It IS silver though, and does have good age as well. Oval in shape, it will fit up to a 6 ¾" wrist comfortably, with a smidge of wiggle room for a larger wrist, the actual inside measurement is 7" and weighs 68.1 grams. Light overall patina, minor gilt wear around the clasp, NO repairs or other faults - just a beauty! $175.00

Art Deco Gem Set Sea Turtle Pendant Brooch
This is a great, Art Deco era find! At first I thought the turtle's shell was plique enamel, but on closer exam realize it is pieces of polished translucent carnelian and green onyx and opaque black onyx - very well done! The head, feet and tail are al encrusted with marcasites and it is finished with tiny, genuine ruby eyes. Measuring 2" x 1 ½", it has a good old period safety clasp and the moveable head has a pendant hook as well. The sides are pierced to allow the maximum infusion of light so the stones just glow! Marked "925" as well as a maker's mark of "MP", a bit of research on the 'net and the only other piece I can find from this maker is over at Red Robin Antiques (Hi Robin!). She has a high art deco initial brooch from the same maker, using the same materials HERE. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, missing stones or other faults, if you love turtles, or just deco, you can't go wrong with this guy! $125.00 ca

Lovely Wm. B. Kerr Art Nouveau Flower Brooch
A fine example of a true Art Nouveau hollowware lotus or water lily bloom from Wm B. Kerr & Company.. It measures 1 3/8" x 1" and is fully hallmarked with the Kerr tomahawk mark, as well as "Sterling" and a design number of 1542. In excellent condition, with no wear that I can find to note, it has a good "c" clasp and a gorgeous patina. Purchased by Gorham in 1906, the Kerr company was introduced new technology and machinery leading to mass production of jewelry and items from the company are always highly sought after. A good example! sh $150.00

Austrian Silver Enamel Renaissance Compact
A wonderful c. 1920's Viennese sterling compact, done in rich, dark green enamel with a lovely Renaissance scene to the top of a woman holding a bow. She is holding a banner which appears to read "Diana - bella", so possibly a depiction of Diana the huntress? The colors of the scene are wonderful shades of pink, lavender, green and gold. The compact measures 2 3/8" around, has a gilt interior and it is hallmarked with a bird (hoopee) head, city mark of W for Vienna and a purity mark of 1 for .935 silver, along with "Made in Austria" and some assorted other maker's marks. In overall very good condition, with the only fault to note a sliver of missing enamel at the top where it hits the hinge. Some scattered, very light surface scratches do not go through and are only visible when the compact is held at an angle. The hinge is good, it closes tightly and stays closed and the powder compartment and the beveled mirror are both intact. A nice example for any compact collection! $250.00

Mexican Engraved Sterling & Gold Belt Buckle, Keepers & Tip
I am tempted to keep this lovely set, since it is a nice size for a woman, but rarely wear belts, it will be one more thing tucked away that I don't use, so here it is for someone who WILL wear it. Crafted from engraved sterling and topped with hand applied and engraved decorations cut from sheets of rose gold, it is marked simply "Sterling, Mexico". The buckle measures 1 5/8", narrowing to 1 3/8". The cross piece for the belt is 5/8". Each keeper is ¾" across by 7/16", the arrow shaped tip is 5/8" at it's widest. All four pieces are in very good condition with no real wear to note and I think this set is pretty early. Would look beautiful with a smooth black leather belt, but would look cool with a Western tooled belt as well. $75.00

Silver Nouveau Foliate Bangle - Karen Foss Collection
This wonderful bangle is crafted from silver with a very Art Nouveau repousse flower design applied to a solid bangle. It is beautifully crafted, the outside actually is 8 sided, while the interior is smooth. The flower and leaf motif is gorgeous, and interestingly is accented with star designs, I am quite taken with it! I have studied the mark with a 20 power loupe and it is one of those darn animal heads (if you recognize it, please let me know!) - sometimes it looks like an angry bird, sometimes a wolf, I just don't have a clue, I am sorry. But it is tested and guaranteed solid silver. It has a locking push in clasp topped with a tiny silver flower, the original safety chain and it appears to be hand cast. It measures 1 1/16" wide and has an inner circumference of 7 ¼". In fine condition, with no real wear to note, the hinge and clasp are both tight and it is a weighty thing at 43.7 grams.   $325.00 - Hold

Edwardian French Silver Paste Pendant
A lovely openwork flower shaped pendant, measuring 1 3/8" is set with faceted paste stones and finished with a genuine creamy white pearl in the center. It hangs from an 18", sturdy paperclip chain held with a spring ring clasp. French in origin and fully hallmarked with the boar's head for silver, a "Sterling" stamp, the number "2"and a makers mark in a lozenge cartouche which I cannot decipher. In excellent condition, with a rich patina, no missing stones and no wear or repairs to note! $165.00

Antique Swedish Silver Gilt Enamel Solje Brooch
This is a fine example of a Solje brooch, done as a circle of gilt silver, decorated with enamel dots and featuring three triangular drops hanging form filigree circles. The drops are decorated with a clover shaped cut out with enamel centers and finished with pretty dangles. The pin is edged in a finely detailed rope border. I bought this thinking it had the look of Marius Hammer, so was surprised to find a tiny three crown hallmark for Sweden on the edge of the "c" clasp. There is no date letter or city mark. The style of the cartouche holding the crowns indicates this was for domestic Swedish sale, not import, I would love to know the story of how it made it's way into my little hands, but alas, the history is gone. The brooch measures 1 5/8" around and it has the aforementioned "c" clasp, as well as t-bar hinge and extended pinback. In excellent condition, it looks as if it has been packed away for along, long time - there is no wear to note to the gilt, the enamel or anything else. $150.00

Good Aesthetic Sterling Chatelaine
A good example of an Aesthetic era sterling chatelaine, with pretty bright cut designs. The top has a sea faring motif with castle by the sea, sailboat and birds in a half circle and a flower. The middle section has a foliate motif and the bottom section another flower Very well done, it is marked "Sterling" and "HB" - Rainwater's attributes those initials to a couple of different companies, but I am not certain which one this is. The clip portion measures 2 ¾" and it has 4 5 ½" chains for attachments. In excellent condition, with no wear to note, the hook is heavy and this is ready to add your own treasured chatelaine implements! $295.00

Dated 1885 Gorham Sterling Aesthetic Design Card Case
This is a wonderful antique Aesthetic Design sterling silver card case made by one of the premier silver makers, Gorham. Measuring 3 ½" x 2 ½", it is beautifully wrought with scalloped edges, a delicate fern and leaf bright cut engraving to one side, to the other find a bright cut flower design with a tiny butterfly in flight. The lid to this side is prettily engraved "1868 and 1885", special dates for someone, though the meaning is lost, it is nice to have them there! Weighing 51 ½ grams, it is fully hallmarked for Gorham on the inside lip as shown, as well as marked "Sterling" it has the original sterling chain handle as well. In excellent condition, with just a couple of age appropriate dimples to the side with the dates, the lid shuts nicely and the hinge is tight. A fine example of a high quality Aesthetic silver object, it was really hard for me to get decent pictures, much nicer in person! $325.00

Beautiful Carved Ivory Geisha Brooch
A beautiful and unusual brooch, featuring a geisha, intricately carved from ivory and prong mounted in a simple gilt silver frame. She measures 2" x 1 ¼" and is in a little work of art down to the peaceful expression on her face. In excellent condition, with no wear that I can find to note, the frame is unmarked but guaranteed silver with a gilt wash. Based on the style of safety clasp, I am guessing she is circa 1940's. Qutie different and just lovely! $95.00
